43rd CanAm & 4th Dragon/Lion Competition

This years championship will serve as a "priority" competition for selecting Team Canada members to represent Canada at international events/competitions.

Canada's Largest Competition

The CanAm Championship is one of Canada's largest and longest running competitions. The 4th year of the Dragon and Lion Competition is also the longest running annual competition in Canada for Dragon and Lion Dance.

Hosted by the CanAm International Martial Arts Championships with facilitation by Dragon and Lion Dance Association of BC, this contest represents the combined efforts of martial artists and lion dance performers and coaches from across Canada. The competition uses trained and certified dragon and lion dance coaches through our Canadian Coach/Judge certification program.

The intent to use the competition as a priority selection competition means that rather than making a selection from one contest we can look to multiple events and contests through the year to make our Official team selection. In this way we provide as much opportunity as possible to Canadian teams and encourage participation and community building , while prioritizing teams which succeed at the CanAm Championship.
